In today’s Sunday special match between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians are going against each other for the second time in IPL 2025.
The first match between the two big franchises was won by Chennai Super Kings, which became their first win this season.
However, both CSK and MI are struggling this season to climb the points table, even though both have won the Champions title five times in the past.
Today’s match is being held live from Wankhede Stadium, and Mumbai Indians chose to bowl first after winning the toss.
Chennai Super Kings have not been able to show a good batting performance this season, but today’s story was a bit different.
Even though both the openers, Rasheed and Rachin Ravindra, got out without making many runs, the next two batters showed exceptional batting.
Shivam Dubey proved his worth as the impact player of CSK as he made 50 runs in 32 balls but got out by the end of the match.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni could not shower the audience with fours and sixes as Bumrah got him out after just 4 runs.
Ravindra Jadeja played till the end and was seen hitting some big shots, which ended his innings with 53 runs in 35 balls.
Chennai Super Kings managed to reach a respectable score of 176 runs in 20 overs, setting the target for Mumbai Indians, who will bat next.
Jasprit Bumrah again proved his reputation as the best bowler as he took two important wickets with giving only 25 runs in his four-over spell.
Mitchell Santner also bowled well and was seen getting the wickets of Rasheed and Mhatre.
Chennai Super Kings will bring Ashwin as their impact player while bowling in the second innings.
Rohit Sharma will play as Mumbai Indians’ impact player with all eyes on him in the hope of a good score.
