Mere Husband Ki Biwi" focuses on Ankur Chaddha (Arjun Kapoor), who is still grappling with the aftermath of his failed marriage to Prabhleen Dhillon (Bhumi Pednekar). When he reconnects with his college crush, Antara Khanna (Rakul Preet Singh), he finds a new chance at love. However, his past re-emerges, leading to conflicts between his past and present, resulting in a tangle of romance, heartbreak, and revelations.

Directed by Mudassar Aziz, the film examines contemporary relationships and marriages. It portrays the difficulties faced by a mismatched couple, including the woman's struggle to balance her professional life and her marriage, and the decision to have a child amid tensions. The depiction of a troubled marital life is raw and realistic.

One of the film's strengths lies in its message about moving on and accepting that some relationships aren't meant to last. However, this message is somewhat overshadowed by a convoluted love triangle plot in the second half. Despite this, the film features endearing supporting characters and had the potential to be a family entertainer, but weak writing undermines their impact.

Arjun Kapoor delivers a performance that balances vulnerability with moments of endearment and emotional intensity. His character oscillates between being a die-hard romantic and at times, appearing naive. He shines in the emotionally charged scenes, showcasing his range as an actor. Rakul Preet Singh portrays Antara with charm and vivacity, particularly standing out in the second half as she becomes a formidable rival to Prabhleen.

Bhoomi Pednekar role asa Prabhleen Dhillon

Bhumi Pednekar, however, is the standout performer. She brings a fiery intensity to her role as Prabhleen Dhillon, capturing the story of many women who find themselves at a breaking point in their marriages. Her presence on screen is electrifying, and she consistently delivers compelling scenes. Harsh Gujral makes a notable debut, impressing with his comedic timing and chemistry with Arjun's character.
The supporting cast, including Dino Morea, Shakti Kapoor, Mukesh Rishi, and Aditya Seal, give commendable performances, but their characters are limited by weak writing. The film attempts to balance serious themes with moments of humor and light-heartedness, but it struggles with consistency.

Overall "Mere Husband Ki Biwi" offers a glimpse into the complexities of modern relationships, with strong performances and an honest portrayal of marital struggles. However, its potential is somewhat diminished by a convoluted plot and weak writing for the supporting characters. Despite its flaws, the film resonates with its message about the challenges of moving on and finding new beginnings.
