CONGRATULATIONS! Neeraj Chopra creates History again wins silver with 88.13 m throw

India's Neeraj Chopra won the silver medal in the men's javelin throw final at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon with the best throw of 88.13m.

Grenada's Anderson Peters won the gold medal with a best throw of 90.54m.

Peters threw 90.21m in his first attempt and then bettered it in his second at 90.46m.

Czech Republic's Jakub Vadlejch won bronze with a best throw of 88.09m, while Germany's Julian Weber finished 4th with a best attempt of 86.86m.

Neeraj Chopra became only the second Indian -- and first Indian man -- to win a medal at the World Athletics Championships, after long jumper Anju Bobby George, who won bronze in 2003.

Neeraj Chopra won Indian athletics' maiden gold in the Tokyo Olympics last year.

Neera is only the second Indian to have won individual gold in the Olympics, after shooter Abhinav Bindra, who clinched the yellow metal in the 2008 Beijing Games.
