Indian Premier League 2025: Sunrisers Hyderabad struggling, PBKS makes the highest powerplay score

Punjab Kings made a smashing start in today’s match against Sunrisers Hyderabad after they decided to bat first on winning the toss.

Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran start as openers and continue to hit fours and sixes without break, leading to more than 50 runs in only 3 overs.

Md Shami proved to be very expensive for SRH as the batters hit a smashing 37 runs in his two overs without giving away any wickets.

The run rate of PBKS reaches around 15, which is very high, with a line of steady and capable batters waiting for their turn.

Harshal Patel finally managed to gain the first wicket within the powerplay, with Priyansh Arya going back with 36 runs in his book.

Cummins is trying to take a second wicket as Prabhsimran continues to hit boundaries, which is maintaining the current run rate for PBKS.

Sunrisers Hyderabad are desperately trying to stop the overflow of runs from PBKS’s side as the crowd is cheering for the continuous smashing of the batters.

With the last over of the powerplay by Harshal Patel starting, Prabhsimran takes full advantage of the field and starts with a boundary.

A chance of run out goes in vain with the ball missing to hit the stumps at the right moment which could have become a turning point in favour of SRH.

Shreyas Iyer continues to take singles from his side to keep the strike rotating as Prabhsimran is in an attacking form.

PBKS ends the powerplay with a smashing six from Shreyas Iyer’s bat, which makes their score of 89 runs the highest score in the powerplay this IPL 2025.

Let us see if PBKS can maintain this attacking form throughout their innings or if SRH manages to stop them by taking some wickets.
