Cast; Saif Ali Khan, Dimple Kapadia, Tigmanshu dhulia, Sunil Grover, Mohammad Zeeshan Ayub Khan.
Amazon prime comes up with a new political drama featuring some of the biggest and talented star cast.
But is this nine-episode long series worth your time? Let’s find out.
Tandav is the story of hunger for power and how far will each go to get it.
Samar Pratap Singh (Saif Ali Khan) is the son of three-time prime minister Devki (Tigmanshu Dhulia).
Samar sees himself as successor of his father and would go to any lengths to get what he wants.
He certainly understands politics and is ready to sacrifice anything and everything for it.
His one ally in this is a corrupt cop Gurpal Chauhan (Sunil Grover) who does not have a moral compass at all and is doing all the wrong things behind a right position.
One another character in the race is Anuradha Kishore (Dimple Kapadia) who is ambitious enough to secure her position in politics and has her eyes set on the prize.
Shiv Shekhar (Ayub Khan) is young student who fed up with all the injustice looming around, decides to start a battle of its own for securing ‘Azaadi’.
However, he is not interested in anything more than that.
Performance wise Saif Ali khan does a decent job but his character is not that well written.
Dimple Kapadia certainly leaves her mark on you. Ayub Khan has once again proven that he is a talented actor of our time and is capable of surprising us.
Best among them is undoubtedly Sunil Grover. His performance makes us wonder why it has taken so long for the directors to cast this gem of a men.
Story is written by Gaurav Solanki and directed by Ali Abbas Zafar.
Though story seems promising, there are just too many elements that never really connect.
Religious chaos, student’s protest, political nepotism, corrupt cop all these issues makes an impact but does not gives any result.
Also, if you are expecting a satisfying ending, you won’t get any. What you will get is a wait for another season.
If political drama is your thing, give it a try for weekend binge.
