Saif Ali Khan’s Tandav which was released just last week has become talk of the town but for all the wrong reasons.
Many viewers and politicians have alleged that show is hurting religious sentiments of a particular section of the society.
An FIR has also been lodged against the head of the content of Amazon Prime, Ali Abbas Zafar, director of the series and Producers of the show.
FIR was lodged in Hazratganj Police station in Lucknow. There are two particular scenes that have caused havoc.
One is the portrayal of Lord Shiva by Ayyub khan who is seen wearing modern clothes and is complaining about more popularity of Lord Rama.
Viewers and others have alleged this particular scene is insulting to the portrayal of Hindu Gods.
Another scene is between Anoop Soni and Sandhya Mridul, where she is quoting that ‘’When a Dalit Caste man gets in a relationship with an upper caste woman, he takes revenge from her of all the discrimination his caste has face in past times’’.
This particular scene is alleged to be portraying particular caste in negative light.
However, many viewers and celebrities have praised the show but the ongoing controversy is overshadowing the popularity of the show.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has also interfered in the ongoing controversy and has issued a discussion with authorities of Amazon Prime.
