Netflix Lupin: Netflix New French Series That has Taken Over the Popularity of ‘The Queen’s Gambit and ‘Bridgerton’

New French series ‘Lupin’ released in January 2021 has gained worldwide popularity.

According to a report released by Netflix, this new French crime series will be watched by 70 million subscribers in its first 28 days of release.

These numbers even surpassed the popularity of critically acclaimed Queen’s Gambit which was watched by 62 million subscribers within one month of its release and widely popular Bridgerton with about 65 million views in its first month of release.

Inspired by Maurice Leblanc’s book’s character Arsene Lupin, the protagonist of the show is best described as gentlemen thief.

A Gentlemen Burglar for an Epic Heist

One who does crime for the greater good. Oman Sy, the lead of the show plays the character of Assane Diop.

Assane plots the burglary of the famous queen’s necklace from the Louvre.

The series is already streaming at number one in many of the countries including Brazil, Sweden, Vietnam, Spain and others.

It’s the first French series to be scored number one spot in Netflix ranking.

Although the Netflix streaming reports are little different from other OTT sites as Netflix counts 1 view for any of the viewers who have streamed the content for two minutes.

Nevertheless, this French crime drama is here to make history.
